Created Issue: problems when run (F5) the project to start the updater [9631]

First I thank the team for the good project !

I encounter a problem when run (F5) the project to start the updater as at the bottom of Page 3 of the " Quick Start Guide.PDF ".

the exception occurred in the " ManifestListManager.cs " and " Updater.Agent.exe" as the screenshot attached.

I use VS 2008, when I run(F5), ASP.NET Development Server started with port of 1868.

But the updater didnot start.

BTW I don't install Windows Mobile Device Center at my Windows 7 because I just test the updater with emulator.

Hello,

your framework is very interessting.

I know the Windows phone 7 will come soon, but Im developing software for industrial purposes.

So i think i probably won't be able to use the new compact framework 4.0. Therefore i'm looking for frameworks i can use with compact framework 3.5.

Is there any further development on your project?

Now I'm trying to use the configuration module and I see there is a section for the "Encripted Sections"... Could please anyone provide an example/explanation on how to encript the app.config to then use it in a secure way in a mobile app?

I played a little with the Performance monitor from the compact framework powertoys.

Allthough the dispose method is called in ManageUsersView the tool shows that the more the module Edit customers is called the more instances of the view exist. How can that be?

Created Issue: DI Container: TaskService with multiple Forms [4451]

I'd like an example where you can open a view via TaskService as allready available. But this view should contain other views, which use services like a repository or "someservicevent". How would you implement that, as the views are invoked by a child cointainer? Or would you even prefer to work with controls instead? Should every view have his own presenter, or would you use a central presenter which controls al views?

Hello,

Great work!

Im new to these blocks and am trying to get the DSA example working. The config file is missing for the C# version and there is also a missing files or two for the VB version. VS solution explorer shows the file was part of the solution at one time but its not present in the directory. I tried taking the config file from the VB solution and adding it as an existing item to the CS solution. I then received a null exception when trying to return the endpoint section form the config file. the errors listed below were the cause

- Configuration = Could not evaluate expression

- ProtectedConfigurationProvider = Could not evaluate expression

i noticed that it was looking for the config here

configFileName = "\\Program Files\\DSAGettingStarted\\DSAGettingStarted.exe.config"

so i changed the configfilename property on load to the local path. that cleared up the first error but i can not get past the 2nd ProtectedConfigurationProvider = Could not evaluate expression

any thoughts? or maybe an updated download!

will there be a tutorial for the DSA block or perhaps you can point me to an existing one?

Note that the Quickstart projects uses the ContainerModel app block from the Mobile Application Blocks. Get these blocks from the patterns and practices project at http://mobile.codeplex.com/.

For documentation on how to use the Event block, see the PRISM documentation at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd458915.aspx. Note that although the original block was written for WPF/Silverlight, the way you program it is almost unchanged in Windows Forms apps. See the QuickStart for examples of usage in the .NET Compact Framework.

The code checked in also includes a Logging Facade, also from PRISM. This is a work in progress. One plan is to use it with Steve Lasker's SQL CE Trace Logger sample, which allows logging to a local SQL CE database, with transmission to a website using Sync Services.

The Mobile Application Blocks Community Contributions is a collection of additional blocks, Quickstarts and other guidance which have been written by Microsoft MVPs and other members of the developer community. The goal is to supplement the official release of the Mobile Application Blocks with materials that will help developers to learn how to use the blocks and encourage adoption by mobile developers and architects.

This release includes:

Two additional mobile application blocks:

• Updater - a block for deploying application updates to devices over a network
